National OBC Federation calls for regular coordination with Govt
Chandrapur : A very positive meeting of representatives of various OBC organizations was held in Mumbai on Friday (29th) under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of the state. Deputy Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis assured that the government has accepted all the demands put forward on behalf of the organizations and the state government will give priority to the upliftment of the OBC community. Interestingly, this meeting took place due to the initiative of Sudhir Mungantiwar, Minister of Forests, Cultural Affairs and Fisheries of the state and Guardian Minister of Chandrapur.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the fasting pavilion of National OBC Federation district president Ravindra Tonge at Chandrapur on Saturday. The 20-day-long hunger strike was ended by giving lemon water to hunger strikers Tonge, Vijay Balki, Premanand Jogi.
State Forest, Cultural Affairs, Fisheries Minister and District Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, MLA Kirtikumar alias Bunty Bhangdia, Kishore Georgewar, Parinay Phuke, President of National OBC Federation Babanrao Taiwade etc. were present on this occasion.
Stating that there will be no impact on OBC reservation, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis said, ‘The OBC community should not have any doubts regarding reservation. We are all united in the state, so the state government will not allow OBC vs Maratha situation to arise. The government has accepted the demands presented by the OBC community in the meeting in Mumbai. Also, there has been a positive discussion in the meeting about the nomadic and unprivileged castes among the OBCs. All photography and minutes of the meeting will be given to the National OBC Federation.’
The state government has so far taken 26 government decisions regarding OBCs. It has foreign scholarship, hostel and other important decisions of students. Not only this, four thousand crores have been provided for the development of students and youth and for the upliftment of the OBC community. During my tenure as Chief Minister, a separate ministry for OBCs was established in the state. The Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi has taken many decisions for the benefit of OBCs and has given 27 percent reservation for OBCs in the medical field. The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized that the OBC Commission has been given constitutional status.
Fadnavis further said, ‘The state government has rented buildings for hostels for OBC students. The state government will provide funds through Swadhar Yojana to the students who will not get admission in this hostel. The state government will give special priority to the upliftment of the OBC community. A scheme of 10 lakh houses for OBC citizens is being implemented. The government is ready to solve all the problems, but for that, the National OBC Federation should maintain regular coordination with the government.
‘There will be no shortfall in funding’ :
There will be no dearth of funds for OBC category schemes. The government will take care of this. The government will also listen to the OBC organizations who could not attend the meeting in Mumbai. The Deputy Chief Minister appealed that such organizations should discuss with the government in coordination.
Care of hunger strikers :
In Chandrapur, district president of OBC federation Ravindra Tonge, Vijay Balki, Premanand Jogi called off the fast, they are happy. He thanked the National OBC Federation for this. Ravindra Tonge should take care of his health. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that office bearers should also get their medical examination done.
