Kolkata : CIO Association/CIO Club is a non-profit organization of CIOs across the country. Which was established in 2008 with the ideology of promoting technological change in the country. The association celebrated the 5th anniversary of its Kolkata chapter on Saturday at Taj Bengal in Kolkata. In which more than 120 CIOs from different cities of the country participated. Even CIOs from our neighbor Bangladesh participated. Apart from Kolkata and other pan India metro cities, many CIOs from Guwahati, Dhanbad and Raipur were also present.
The grand event was inaugurated by Babul Supriyo, Minister of Information Technology and Electronics and Energy, West Bengal. Apart from this, the respected officials attending the event included Mohan Goyal (44 years of IT veteran in the industry and President of CIO Club Kolkata Chapter), Sanjeev Sinha (Treasurer besides IT & Digitization and Chairman of India Power Corporation Limited), Saurav Das (Secretary, Group Head of Digital & IT Rupa & Company), Sanjay Prasad (MC Member, CIO-R, CESC Ltd.; Dr.), Sandeep Pradhan (MC Member, CIO Exide Industries Ltd.), Sanjay Goswami (MC Members IT Head Maithon Alloys Ltd.), Manik Paul (MC Member, CIO Vikram Solar Ltd.) besides Vishnu Gupta (MC Member, Chief Executive CIO), Pampa Basu (MC Member, Senior Director, ITC Infotech), Sanjay Kumar Das, (MC Member, MD, Webell, Secretary IT&E Dept., CISO, West Bengal) and many other eminent personalities participated in it.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Man Mohan Goyal, President, CIO Club Kolkata Chapter, said, CIO Club is a unique initiative of leading technocrats of the country, bringing together CIOs, CISOs and its Chief Digital Officers from various industry sectors in India and the Middle East. Participated in the program. Currently the association has more than 1600 CIOs from various organizations in India as members. Overwhelmed by the participation of over 120 CIOs representing 100 large organizations from across the country and over twenty IT companies coming forward for the technology discussion.
CIO Club has always strived to create a dynamic platform for knowledge-sharing and networking. Through networking, CIO Club members continue to grow their businesses. We make an important contribution to the Indian economy by becoming the flag bearers of major initiatives of the government like Make in India, Digital India and Self-reliant India.
The CIO Club is governed by a central body and Chapter Council. It has 14 chapters across the country – Delhi NCR, Punjab in the North, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Goa in the West, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore and Kerala in the South and Kolkata in the East. Additionally there is an international chapter in Dubai with plans to launch more international chapters in Singapore, Colombo and Dhaka.
