Chandrapur : A total of 3449 Shri Ganesh idols have been immersed in an artificial immersion tank constructed by the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation for one and a half days and five days after the commencement of Ganeshotsav.
The Municipal Corporation appealed that the immersion of gharghuti and small size idols should be done at home if possible, if it is not possible to do it at home, in an artificial tank constructed by the Municipal Corporation.
26 artificial ponds and 20 Nirmalya Kalash have been constructed by the municipality and the employees of the sanitation department are continuously working to keep the said immersion tank in good condition. As this artificial tank gets a huge response, when large number of idols are immersed here, the water becomes cloudy and a large amount of soil accumulates. After the idols are completely immersed, these tanks are cleaned and fresh water is released so that the citizens can enjoy the immersion of the idols in clean water.
For the immersion of Ganesha idols, 3 ‘rotating immersion tanks’ have been arranged zone wise. The zone wise route schedule and contact numbers of these mobile immersion tanks have also been provided by the Municipal Corporation for the convenience of the citizens. 90 Ganesha idols have been immersed in this initiative due to the response. Meanwhile, not a single POP idol has been found in the city during the immersion, so it is clear that the municipality’s POP-free Ganeshotsav campaign is going to be successful this year as well.
